Chionodoxa

Chionodoxa (Glory-of-the-snow) is a genus of eight bulbous perennials in the family Hyacinthaceae. The blue, white or pink flowers appear early in the year making them valuable garden ornamentals.

Four species occur in West Turkey, one in Southwest Turkey, two in Crete and one in Cyprus. Some species (mainly Chionodoxa siehei and Chionodoxa luciliae) have naturalised from gardens outside of their native range. E. g. in Great Britain, Germany, Austria, The Netherlands. Note that there sometimes also naturalised a hybrid: Chionodoxa siehei x Chionodoxa luciliae.
